INDEPENDENT VARIABLE:
The materials you use to poke the person with, and how hard you poke them, the people who are being poked
DEPENDENT VARIABLE:
The person that is being poked
2. Investigate the Information:
NOTES/FACTS:
The brain does not feel pain because there are no pain receptors in the brain. The skin and bones around the brain can feel pain, however, which is why we can still get headaches.
Hsu says acupuncture addresses pain in two ways. It stimulates the body to produce naturally occurring pain-killing chemicals, and it interferes with pain signals to the brain. "With chronic pain, it's a good front line of defense,"
"When you receive acupuncture, you're not only decreasing pain but increasing blood flow,
nervous system made up of 2 parts: brain and spinal cord which combine the central nervous system, and sensory and motor nervous which from the preiphera
pain is "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage."
The feeling of pain can be caused by the heat, the pressure or the chemical substances our tissues release when they are injured. Different factors influence the cells of our neural system and their reaction is reported as cases associated with pain
Your body has roughly twenty different nerve endings in the skin that tell you if something is hot, cold, or going to be painful. The nerve endings convey this information to the brain and spinal cord, also known as the central nervous system
NOW THAT I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH, I PREDICT THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION WILL BE:
I predict that the person i test on will be able to recognize how many time they are being touched while blindfolded.
3. Plan AProcedure:
I need to get my three different items; paper clip, fork, 5 pens
Bend the paper clip in to a "U" shape/ tape 5pens together
Make a data sheet with coloums for tries 1,2,and 3, and for poking them lightly and hard
Find 2-3 people that are willing to help
Blindfold each person and poke them lightly with all items, ask them what they felt for each item,(record information as you go)
Blindfold each person and poke them harder with all items, ask them what they felt for each item,(record information as you go)
Look at all information and find a conclusion
4. What I'll Need:
I have these: I need to locate these:
I have: 1 paper clip 1 fork 5 pens
I don't need anything

5. Keeping Track - Proposed Data Sheet
6. Analyze It All
Here's a Graph:
The data shows that . . . .
Depending on where you are being poked is how many points you will feel
Therefore, I conclude that . . . .
That you feel more points on your leg
But was my work valid? . . .
My work was valid because i did two tries for each person and if it was a questionable answer i would restart
